Brilliant, the way that Sky were banging on about Cooper last night was hilarious, especially when Thompson was quite clearly a fair bit better.

That was arguably our worst performance of the season and yet we still won. Any half decent attacking side would have been out of sight in that first half. Child made some bizarre decisions for the whole of that first 40 yet you couldn’t take advantage. Brown and Roberts are the main reason why you won’t win anything this season, the latter is embarrassing and I’m gutted he’s going home. 300k a year for that.

We soaked up the pressure first half and as soon as Barba scored you felt that was your chance gone. I’ve never seen worse execution of a drop goal (3 times) and ultimately you bottled it. You’re a solid side but that’s about it. Very good defensively but I’ve never seen a side look so clueless in attack. I’m sure that you can improve on that performance but so can we and ultimately unless something changes you aren’t good enough to win a grand final.

To add to that, Steve Price didn't appear to have much confidence in the teams ability to score trys, 3 penalties in the 20 to 30 metre zone and he instructed for a goal kick on every one. Holbrook would have instructed his players to play the ball to increase pressure on the defensive line.

You're deluded.. as is RD, to think neither team can improve on that.

not one single wire fan believes we can win the Grand Final (or even get to it). unlike Saint Helens fans who are talking trebles...( which i predicted for them at the start of the season BTW).

So wind your neck in take your victory with some grace (not possible I know) and worry about how many you are going to get tonked by in the World club final next year....

Of course,we can reach the Grand Final , we’re almost nailed on for a top4 finish and in a final anything can happen ,Roberts might even start playing like a marquee signing

You can smell the anxiety in the Saints fans posts, almost as if they are trying to persuade themselves that yesterday was a bad day at the office and nothing to do with how Wire played.

To add to that further, the only enigma in this whole scenario is how st helens didn't score 50 and us scoring at all. I totally agree with as108 in that you could tell saints were holding back for the full 80. If saints wanted to put on 50, they could have- it's just they chose not too- they are such a remarkable side and they felt sympathy for us.

I still say Wire have another 2 gears. Roberts with so much improvement scope to me is scary.
I'm calling it now....that was Saints final last night.
Catalans vs Wire in CC and Wigan vs Wire GF.
