Burgess wanted Andy Last as his Assistant - called him up a few weeks ago. Had a good chat, Andy told Sam to make him an offer. Sam told him it would be KF that would do all of that. Anyway, Lasty never heard anything, and then McNamara called him, had a good chat and made him an offer over the phone there and then so signed the contract.

Burgess called Lasty after the news had come out and was surprised saying that he thought they had an agreement in place etc. and Lasty told him that he had never received any kind of offer so took the Catalans offer

Well if any of that is true the fact KF was anywhere near it is why that will have gone tits up.

Well that escalated quickly. I was only told at lunchtime that MG has informed the club he was confident of getting out of his RU contract, and wanted to stay at Warrington.
