So a game where by your own admission the "scoreline might have been high" is the next best example of how resting players has cost us.
If anything cost us at Catalans it was Smith not going with his preferred tactic of sending all our traffic at McGuire, Sherwin and Carlaw. But I guess he was saving that for the semi at Widnes - was that a mistake also?
As an alternative view I might point out the health and fitness of our squad the weekend of the Challenge Cup Final and two weeks before the players commence is such that Smith has to make decisions such as not picking Richie Myler. Perhaps the resting of players, who may well have been struggling through matches with niggling injuries, might have put us a good position to push for trophies on two fronts.
