Slippery slope this. Realistically, with HKR, Salford and Huddersfield the next three we could win all three and buy some time with the difficult run of Wigan, Catalan, Saints and Leeds. Slip up in those three though and you’re then looking like we NEED to beat those big teams just to keep pace.
Tough job the Warrington role. It takes a special coach to connect with both the fans and with the players. At the moment, Powell has neither.
Price (for all his knockers, myself included) got the fans on side early. Going for a drink in the match day pubs and getting the bus to the stadium with fans went a long way and got him some loyalty. Powell is already having “frank conversations” and then relaying them to the media, which is a ploy to show his dominance and control. Not sure it will connect with the fans though, unless he starts putting some underperforming stars in the stands.
