being top of the pile by over a hundred points and having beat the big three rivals is something that hasn't been done for a long time.

If we finally beat Huddersfield I think you would struggle to deny we're by far the best team in the comp. Turning it on on the day is another thing but this team is the best by far in super league. I am not however, getting my hopes too high. I have seen Warrington fail before.

I don't really see the playoffs being a specific problem for us. If we can cope with winning league matches we can cope with winning playoffs. We lost to Saints and Hudds in the playoffs, but we lost to Saints home and away in the league last year, and have lost to Hudds twice in the league already this year so its not just a playoff thing. Having to play 3 cup finals in a row is not much different to when you are in the Quarter Finals of the Challenge Cup...we've beaten Wigan, Hudds and Leeds in big Challenge Cup games so we have definitely got the mentality for it.

One thing which does worry me though, given the playoff structure, is the prospect of the 'anti-climax' ending to our season...this is something I've seen happen to teams in the NRL. Ie if the table finished as it stands now, we would play Castleford in the first playoff (where we can afford to lose and get a second chance), and say we won that game we could afford to lose. Then it's week off, wait till the semi final when we would have clubcall. But when we choose our clubcall (and I can see the irony here, if we choose Saints) if we lose that game its season over, and its only 80 bad minutes away from game over.

Good point, but its worth keeping in mind that this season we have convincing wins against Saints, Leeds & Wigan on our record.....Last season, there were still doubts about our ability to match those sides, especially Saints and Leeds.

Our defeats this year have all been on days where we have failed to 'turn up'.....Last year, that wasn't the case.

The difference this season, for me anyway, is if we do play to our potential, then no side will beat us, simple as.

I think that was true last year too. I also feel the comment about not turning up is disrespectful to Catalans. They played well on the day, but we still made more yards, just couldn't finish off the moves. They haven't lost since.

We seem to be developing a handy knack of beating Wigan too, something that should you want to lift trophies, you're going to need.
