I however think we have. That’s as good as it gets.

Packs win games.

Reading the quotes just makes me wonder if Super League players get media training these days. I'd love to know if he actually thinks that or if he's just answering with what he thinks the club wants him to say. It probably doesn't help Powell or the club if he's saying that and they know they're a year or two of recruitment and hard work off actually doing that.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

I don’t believe what Danny said will hinder Powell, the team or the club whether he believes it or not. The coach and players know exactly where they are, whatever they say in public.

Agreed, in any media interview, Players/Coaches talk up their teams and chances.

Very rare for an interviewee to say we are crap and we`re not going to win many games.

Chris Hill came out in defence of the coach, and our lowly league position, saying how we’d get things right, it’s only so many games in and it’s not a sprint but how you finish..

It ended with the coach losing his job and us playing in the middle 8s.

He must be media trained to a degree, I mean it's not like he came out and stated publically that Jai Field offers very little other than pace is it? That would have been made him look really, really silly IMO.

As it stands he has given us a few admittedly fairly pointless soundbites, sure there is a long way to go and maybe we canplay ourselves in to some form and give ourselves a chance at the end of the season, it's unlikely in my eyes but you never know.

It’s the hope that kills you.

It’s a bit of a nothing piece isn’t it really? I do wonder if these guys have to take turns talking to the local papers (I mean sports people in general) - or do they get collared by someone on their way to the Chinese and asked questions?

Neither glass half full or empty. Just a realist.

I looked at the thread title, and thought we'd signed the long since dead Anglo/American comedian, Bob.

Mind you, judging by the performances, he'd've been an improvement.

Turns out, the players have all been smoking Bob Hope.

People place far too much importance on what players say in the media.

At the end of the day, if you are losing, it doesn't matter what you say, you are going to sound like you are talking poop.

If the Germans had won the Battle of Britain and occupied the UK, then all Churchill's talk about fighting them on the beaches would have sounded like Tony Smith saying we trained well all week.

I think Walker is a future Captain for us, always full of passion and enthusiasm, and if you watch him on the pitch he's always talking and you see him telling players where to go. And at 22 he'll get better and better :-)
And yeah i think Clark will move on unless he can find his form again. But he does seem to be taking a battering at the minute like his body has finally had enough.
