Re: Has he gone? : Sat Jul 22, 2023 9:33 pm
If the board/leadership team really are putting the outcome of this solely on one game against a team in a relegation dog fight, then they are completely clueless and are not fit for purpose.

If you are that concerned you are considering changing coach, and miraculously have a 16 day break between games, and pass up that opportunity in favour of one more game to “prove yourself” leading into a 5 day turnaround against the top of the league, then they are clueless buffoons and the changing of coach is the least of the problems.

It’s the wrong coach. I think 90%+ of the fans now believe that, and it appears given that we are rebuilding the rebuild, that there are a number of players that are of the same mindset. The problem is, can the recruiters be trusted to select the right person next time around? Has the board run a “lessons learned” on the appointments of Price and Powell and reflected on what went well and what didn’t? I think we all speculate at the answer to this, but this is a bigger fix than the head coach/a couple of props/a win against the relegation fodder.

So far arguments sake we beat Wakefield... What exactly does that prove in terms of coaching credentials.... Seeing Simon Moran and KF smiling big time at the end of yesterday's game having watched a well coached and spirited team off to Wembley including supposed Warrington cast offs... Enough is frankly enough now... A game in west Yorkshire won't be the turning point ... Admitting a mistake enough to change it is

It is disgraceful how the board have allowed the expectations of the club & its fans to fall so low.

I still have a suspicion that Powell is no more than a patsy for the clowns in charge.

Said that a long time back on another thread, they like him so it deflects from the owners. The owners should of stepped up got shot of Fitzpatrick first then looked at the coaching team then the team itself.

Sometimes I think people can just be a little to close to things. The board are essentially fans with money. The CEO is an ex-pro who went and sought a degree but has no experience of business or sport management outside of this club.

I think we all acknowledged that Briers needed to leave the club in order to learn and develop, I think the same could be said of KFP. He’s served his apprenticeship here and is now trying to be the authority figure, where he might not have the same gravitas.

I think we need true independence, either in the boardroom or the executive leadership team. Someone to push back on the ideals, and run the business without bias or primrose coloured glasses.

Said it quite some time ago, I think we would benefit from having a Director of Rugby who had some serious power & control....Sean Wane anyone?
