I liked him to be totally honest as a player, he brought a dynamacism around the PTB not seen for a good while, however he was very much an 'individual' player..
He was all those things but I thought he also lacked composure and made crap decisions. Its a shame really because he would have been pretty good. It also didnt help him being played in the wrong position and then being made an (e)scape goat PS
Common sense alone tells you that Matt King will be on a far higher contract than Michael Monaghan, Matt King was a current origin and test international when he signed for us and by leaving Australia he was giving up rep football and all the money that goes with it.
Michal Monaghan has yet to play any origin or test rugby which means Matt King had a far bigger bargaining tool to negotiate a far higher contract in what he was giving up to come to the UK, i`m suprised you even aksed to be honest. And before you ask as i`m sure the question would have been due, no i don`t know the details of players contracts as my assumption was based on common sense of the above.
they will be the big tools that give you a whooping next season
To be fair with the amount of money you spend on players year after year you should be giving quite a few teams a whooping as you call it.
If you don't break in to the top 4 next season it will once again go down as a season of under achievement. This is not a dig, I like to watch wire and Ben Westwood came throught the ranks at my local amateur team so I have a bit of a soft spot for your side.
That you didn't make the play offs this time round can only be described as terrible, I know you were very unlucky with injuries but in sport everyone has to go through time of adversity and I'm sure your board will have budgeted for a place in the 6 at the very least.
You should be very exciting to watch next season should your new signings gel with the rest of the squad, however Leeds have proved on numerous occasions that you can't simply go out and buy success, you need the grafters such as Westwood and Wood.

Good luck for 08 apart from against us of course!
Spot on, if we don't make the top 4 next season with the squad we've assembled then we never will.
i only saw the second half today but i was cringing that king got sucked in 3 times in the first 10 minutes in defence, he'll get crucifed on here next year for that.
Matt King was at fault for both the Eels tries, he came charging out of the line for the first Eels try attempting a big hit and Parra threw the long ball which left his winger with an overlap of 2 on one. He did this a few times in the first half but the Storm got away with a couple of the others.
The 2nd Eels try was very similar to the first, again King rushed out leaving his winger totally exposed with an overlap. The tries he scored were great work from Hoffman which left King with a run in for the 1st and the 2nd one looked like he had lost control of the ball from a short range barge over, it didn`t matter anyway as that was right on the siren.
It was a good game though, lots of big hits with plenty of claret on show, Inu was unlucky twice as that ball from Tahu deserved a try by itself. The turning point was when Riddell went off in the 1st half as the momentum swung then, Riddell was dominating the ruck and causing the Storm a lot of problems.

Have you also counted the many times that King drags his apponents into touch with his charging defense, which no doubt has saved many tries.

Barrel of laughs you are, always take a negative out of a positive.
