briers has got to be a legend, how many times he has single handily won a match for us is quite outstanding

Two lasting images from Greg and JD's League careers are respective long range, high quality tries against the Ockers.
A lasting image from Briers' playing career will perhaps be his performance against the Ockers in the World Cup, not least his try when he made a bit of a fool of a certain Darren Lockyer.
That said, I'm sure Andy Farrell will go down as a Wigan legend, yet we can hardly sit around misty eyed at his international memoirs.
You then used 'club stats', in which Briers dominates quite a substantial number of players, to be fair. It will be quite difficult for fair minded historians to take into consideration his contribution towards some of our biggest performances, combined with impressive stats, such as his sheer quantity (not to mention quality) of 40-20s, breaks, assists, drop goals, goals and disregard an arguement for him to be classed in the 'legend' bracket.

Just having a quick look to see how this thread ended up....I'm glad I did because I haven't laughed so much in years with the suggestion that Briers is in the same bracket as Jonathan Davies...

Now Davies isn't a Warrington legend, fair enough, he wasn't here long enough to warrant that one, but he is a RUGBY legend having excelled at both codes of the game, and basically being the type of player who would attract a crowd purely by being on the team sheet.

Seconded but hammering him over alleged previous misadventures or making unfair comparisons to players of different generations is much more fun for most people on here.
