And away from De niro...I cant believe no one has mentioned 'Good Morning Vietnam' ? Robin Williams at his very best an absolutely brilliant film.

Heat as a whole is slightly average but the street shootout scene is amazing, choreographed by an ex sas man. All the noise is authentic and guns that actually run out of bullets.

I enjoyed Shawshank Redemption but think it is very overrated and is not deserving of a pl;ace in a top 10 (or top 50 for that). Too syrupy, particluary the last 30 minutes. Great performances though.

The Big Lebowski? Not the Coen Brothers best. Couldn't decide whether to put one of theirs in... Fargo? Barton Fink?

Yeah, good film, but not a great. When you've directed masterpieces such as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas, even a film as good as The Departed (which knowck spots off most off other films) pales in comparison.

Of the recent ones I have seen Shutter Island was pretty good.
