Have you noticed, you can never find a radical priest when you need one.

Perhaps I over reacted, but perhaps you don’t understand just how highly SB* is regarded by those that are ‘Wire’. You’re lucky I’m not a mod. I’d have banned you if even one of your words, syllables, or phonemes cast any aspersions as to his character

*SB = Super Ben

It goes something like this;
Super, Super Ben
Super, Super Ben
Super, super Ben
Super Benny Westwood.

Good one! Nice to see you both back on track, we all get carried away with our support for our clubs at times, and a bit of biased banter is fine and can be fun, I’m guilty of that, but some people go way too far and can get nasty, ok fine, give tit for tat but I don’t think that’s what the sites are really for. so again nice one Sir.

It's been fun.

Re: Westwood v Hock : Tue Aug 14, 2012 12:23 pm
When Hock came back from the ban i thought he'd be worse for it, before the ban he was brilliant at taking the line on and quick.
He came back looked bigger but lost a little pace but i'll be honest was surprised to see him actually play better than before the ban, the guy is a hot head, in fact it's the only thing that lets him down. I'd have him at Wire in a heart beat, just iron out the idiotic side of him and let him know he doesn't need to show that side of and just let his talent do the talking.

The thing Hock needs to work on most IMO is knowing when the right time to offload is. A lot of the time he's just throwing the ball out to players who aren't prepared for it, or straight onto the floor. It's alright against inferior teams such as Castleford, Wakefield, St Helens, etc, because we can neutralise an attack they try or quickly sort ourselves out. Against yourselves and Australia however, it's got the potential to kill us.

I think if you try to control Hock too much you can take away what makes him so effective. Some say he doesn't know when not to offload but it could also be said that the players around him fail to realise exactly when he's capable of offloading. There are quite a few times when players just aren't looking for the offload and are taken by surprise.

Both Hock and Westwood are probably the best back row forwards in Super League. Hock at his best probably has a little bit more in attack but Westwood tends to be better defensively and is a little more consistent.

Another promising thing is that even though both players are now heading into their 30's both teams appear to have ready made replacements coming through, with Jack Hughes looking likely to take the left second row place at Wigan and Ben Currie at Wire, who I will grudgingly admit is the better of the two and potentially a new Gareth Ellis or possibly even better.
