Fair point pie and it's a valid point but Powell as a good record with cas one year with our rabble is nowt compared to Watsons 2 at hudds..not doubting Watsons coaching career as he is a good coach..out the 2 I'd have Powell..sits back and wait for gazwire applause
Yip. Powell being in his first season didn't evade me but Powell to me needed to bring in a few additions to an already decent squad to improve again, i just don't know what's happened there. Watson had to build a new one for a free falling relegation threatened side.
I suppose the proof of the pudding will be in the eating regarding Powell's 'building something big' claims but i can't help but feel he has also surrounded himself with upturned swords that he has created and it won't take much to slip onto one of them. Warrington's board is usually patient with their coaches but i get the feeling they will pull the trigger if you don't start well next season. Only the coach and the owners really know what has gone on with the big players being shipped out but if Powell is to blame in any way and he has been given the grace of the season to get it right then i reckon he will be out by easter if you aren't in the top 6 and rightly so. Wire can't have another season like that. The competition can't have another season like that. We are on the cusp of having Wigan, Saints, Leeds and according to Powell :- Warrington having strong sides next season, add into that Smith bringing stability to Hull, which i think he will and Huddersfield possibly kicking on again the comp could be in a good place in a couple of years. Still won't be your year though
