To be fair the building blocks have been there for years. It’s not like they lacked a winning mentality throughout the organisation. We, however, clearly needed a little revolution to try and rebuild from the bottom up. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Powell is the man to achieve that. I don’t think Rohan Smith would have made the slightest difference to us, apart from maybe maintaining the status quo with a slightly higher league position. Would we have beaten Wigan just now in that semi? I’m not so sure - and we started 2022 with a better squad on paper than Leeds.
