Well if a semi HAS to be played on the Friday night, surely it should be Saints v Leeds? They have less distance to travel than the KR fans.

you're right, its great, great move BBC and RFL, live RL on a friday night on a mainstream channel, so i'll be able to watch it at home, rather than enduring the struggle and ballache to get to headingly for kick off.

Its forgetting the primary customer, the fans. Granted, i know the BBC aint interested in people in the ground but having liver RL on a friday night on a mainstream channel with an empty ground, it don't look good.

If the BBC are screening both games, then it depends what slot they want the showpiece game in, which is obviously Leeds V Saints. If they want to make a big deal out of the Friday night fixture then that one will be it. If they expect more viewers on a Saturday afternoon and are already planning to stick the Friday game on BBC3 or whatever, then we'll play on Friday.

Either way, it will be decided by the demands of the broadcaster, not by the RFL or the request of Hull KR. Money talks innit.

I'm not happy anyway. 9pm finish at work that Friday and already confirmed I can't get holiday, so even if it's played at Wythenshawe Town FC I'll still miss the first half and first five minutes of the second half, unless I can get a swap. Unsurprisingly there doesn't tend to be a queue of people desperate to do late shifts on Friday nights though, so that's far from a formality.

Friday night semi finals eh? Brilliant.

BBC3 ,isn't that a channel for the more discerning & high brow viewer ? They'll be have to shoe horn the match in between episodes of South Park & Family Guy.

If the BBC are showing a pre season footy friendly on the Sunday (Community Shield)..
If there any reason that both Semis can't be on the Saturday ? Say one at 2pm and the other at 4pm? I know this will mean 2 commentary teams, but surely this is an option and a hell of a lot better for the fans ?
