Why do we need or want Chase though? We have Lee Briers, don't care what anyone says Lee is better than Chase, we have Myler, we have Ratchford coming and we have Gaz O'Brien, it just smacks of Wigan in the 80's, buy him so no one else can.
Totally agree, Chase isn't needed. Gaz O'Brien looked really good in the few games he played this season, and we've got Ratchford.
If we signed Chase it would be an unnecessary drain on the salary cap and a wasted quota space.

Agreed. I reckon our spare quota spot and money left in the cap should be spent on bringing in a world class loose forward. Not sure who's available though.

It wouldn't suprise me if we bought Chase this year and loaned him back to Cas for a season as part of the deal until we have salary cap space available and the need to replaced Briers.

I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday. At the moment we don't need him and I'm not sure he would fit in to our current style of play. We would also have to get rid of a high earner to get him in. The last bit would be possible in 2013.

The only problem with waiting to sign him could mean Wigan could come in and get him, I reckon they will be interested in him.

l'd be very suprised if we signed anyone else for 2012 tbh.
Chase is very good but O'Brien is also a real talent.
I'm happy with our 2012 line up, but Kingy leaving leaves a hole that we can't fill.

Surely Kings 'spot' (ok not ability) will be replaced by either Ratchford (centre) or Riley (wing)?

dont understand the people saying we should be signing a better player to replace briers, simple fact.. there is nobody better than rangi chase that we would be able to bring in. FACT! he offers that x factor in his play similar to tomkins , and all of his play has been behind a castleford pack which this season has been mostly injured. we havent really got room for him atm because it would be harsh to play myler or chase out of position but i would be ecstatic if we were to sign chase and would understand if we were to loan him back to castleford. put it one way i would not want to be playing against a wigan team with him in it.
