I dont like to get into personal insults but to say the fans who dont like booing are the ones that don't go to away games is ridiculus.
Some of the worst treatment of the players I have witnessed has always been at away games. Some of our fans think that because they have hopped on a plane to the south of france, Jumped on a bus to London or drove down the M62 to Salford means that they have a devine right to expect / deserve a performance in line with the effort and money they have outlayed to attend the match.
The distance travelled is also proportionate to the quantity of booze consumed and this also seems to be relative to the volume of abuse the players take if they dont perform.
I am going to suggest something equally ridiculus in that I would suggest the majority of the people who Boo have not played Rugby League and dont know what it is like to cross that line.
Because there are a number of clubs at full cap now If a player like Thurston were to fancy a stint in Super League in the future and several clubs were in for him If I was him I would go to somebody like Huddersfield as the fans behaviour would come into the equation. If there was equal money on the table I wouldnt come to the HJ after hearing about the abuse that has been dished out. I have heard worse abuse to our own players recently than to opposition players over the years and that is sad. Like I have said, the more clubs that have full cap and therefore equal spending power the more damage our fans will do with behaviour like this.
