Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

How much are Saints willing to pay us for King and how much will we have to pay Monaghan to release him?

If this is at all true - i doubt there would be any fee involved - we are hardly the Man City of the Rugby world, i would imagine it would getting the reported AUS$600,000 per year off the salary cap

Wouldn't be so bad for us if he was in his pomp but then you wouldn't be looking to get rid!

I'm quite sure you aren't daft enough to believe that

You can almost guarantee this is one of those rumours made up to cause a bit of a stir in the local pub. People then think because they've heard it from more than one person, it has to have some weight, not realising just how quickly an interest rumour or lie can spread, even if unsubstantiated.

Not really bothered if Briers goes, never going to be the player he was. Don't want Meli. We should keep Monnas and King ( if they want to stay) and give them more time under Tony Smith.

You are right I don't believe the actual figure quoted is correct, but he must be one of the highest earners at the club - if not the highest - a top rated Australian international in the prime age won't come over here & give up his international career for buttons...

I don't think King is a problem on his own as many don't on here but i don't know what is - from back to front Wire have a talented squad on paper... good props, hard working forwards, quick hooker and big hooker, pace in the backs, passing, kicking and creativity in Briers, Monaghan & Bridge not sure about Grix (though this area seems to be an area for criticism for Wire fans this year) & only last week gave Leeds quite a scare, why its fell apart again is beyond probably all of us.

Smith will definitely do whats best in the long term - it just might take a while to weed out the deadwood holding the rest back

We have quite a handy player named Gareth O'Brien playing at seven in the reserves. But it is a hell of a step up to first team.

So releasing Briers and/or Monaghan would just make things worse?
