People move house. I'm not from Heald Green and Mel C's not from Widnes.

The Paul Simon story is true mind. I'm sure Widnesians are more than happy to be able to say their town's claim to fame is a song about dreaming of leaving being written there. They don't need false celebrity claims as well!

Generally most people will say they are from the place they grew up in; say from ages 6-14. My missus was born in Liverpool and moved out when she was around five. She'd always say she was from Widnes though.

Mel C went to infants in Runcorn and then juniors and high school in Widnes so she must have moved out of Rainhill at a very early age. Reading a couple of interviews with her, she seems full of poop.

It's a good job nobody's monitoring internet access at work. Imagine being caught searching for Mel C facts.

He lived on Sylvan Avenue in Timperley throughout his childhood (which is round the corner from me). John Squire lived on the same road. Lots of both of their families still live around Timperley now, Ian Brown's cousin is married to the son of one of my neighbours and another cousin of his is us a mutual friend of one of my mates. I think he might have been born in Warrington but that's about it.

Lived in Orford till he was 5 or 6 so in my book he's from Warrington. He lives in Lymm now.
