Plucky defeat. Saints were on the ropes for 10 mins but they were never behind in the game and restricted us to one try.

Are you saying we didn't try? How did we get to golden point against a decent side without trying? You read some odd stuff on here.

In both games we dropped too much ball. Questioning the effort is silly.

The ref that sent a Saints player off on the last 10?

Some dubious calls but the ref was not the reason we lost even if it is hard to take. The reason we lost was giving Saints a 12 point head start in 20 minutes before we started to compete. For the last hour we matched them.

They'd have been the better team without the pile of penalties and false decisions going their way, I agree. But sometimes, when the game is refereed fairly, being the better team doesn't always win you the game.
