Re: Tonight’s match v Wigan : Sat Jul 27, 2024 11:54 am
Thought the ref had a decent game actually. Handled this little bit of handbags well and as others have said just gave the try rather than relying on the screen, which ruins the excitement. His hand was forced on the Marshall incident, which is an act of gamesmanship more than foul play, but that’s the rule. Hopefully common sense will prevail and no cause for action by the disciplinary panel. With London on the horizon, I’d be looking at resting Dufty. With respect to London, that is the week where we can best risk resting him. Similarly with Williams, you get the feel that we need those two on all cylinders come the play offs, so we need to work out a way to get some energy in the tank. But with Thewlis, Ashton, King, Fitzgibbon all having a few weeks rest, Harrison having a week of without damaging the results is a win, and Philbin’s return on the horizon, the bulk of the team will be as ready as they can be approaching the back end.
