Re: This week’s disciplinary : Mon Sep 11, 2023 4:07 pm
The summary says no ban for Nicholson, but the notes at the top of page 22 suggest a 1 game ban?

Chances are singleton has had a previous charge or already had a ban for similar this year

Salford's appeal is in. One senses they're not too impressed again. It feels like the MRP are deliberately baiting them now. Nothing more than a penalty that one.

Be quiet Bill Bailey

That was a nailed on sin binning, and I think the person most surprised that he wasn't binned, was Singleton himself, dirty little grub.

Although I do agree it wasn't a ban, for that incident (although given previous record it could be) but it smacks of the MRP trying to level up where the referee failed like they tend to on the majority of Saints games.

Although we have benefitted a couple of times from these types of incidents, it annoys me as the right decisions at the time would have been more useful.

I also think that the reversal of their previous appeals wasn't great I think King V. should have been banned, if anyone Watkins was more hard done to.

Wardle and Isa ones are the worst challenges there has been this season, bar Hurrell's. Presumably Wardle has never even had a speeding ticket let alone a previous ban as if that was a Saints player it's an automatic ban. How you can walk away from 4 Grade B charges and 5 in total with just 1 game in bans is beyond me.

Ridiculous, you got normal treatment at the start of the year, just like everyone else, since then the disciplinary panel are treading on eggshells around your players like they have done for the past 4 or 5 seasons. You lot get the most lenient treatment out of everybody.

You're kidding, right? Saints are no different to any team in Super League in terms of discipline. Yet we've surpassed Warrington's bans this season, despite Maguire getting about 20 weeks for his naughty words. There are players in Super League who have had 3 grade B charges and not been banned. Yet there are Saints players who got banned for their first. The suggestion we get any form of leniency is ridiculous.

Yeah but Phil Veivers is on the board and he no doubt made sure McGuire was slapped with a 19 game ban, placed in shackles and returned to Australia in order to stop our 8 game winning streak and sure the 5 peat remains on track. Clearly still not forgiven Dessie for knocking him out with his trademark headbutt in the cup in 1989 (or thereabouts). Massive conspiracy.

It was 1988. We put you out the cup with a last minute John Fieldhouse try but you did win the 'we butted a Saints player' trophy that day so clearly all wasn't lost. :thumb:
