It’s a waste of a sub really. You can tell by the stats that we struggled for momentum and to make meters. So to put a defensive workhorse on the bench for 60 minutes is absolute madness.

Amor is a solid player, low risk. Just takes the ball up, no flair. He would have been ideal to have on the bench just to add another body.

I’m not condoning only carrying the ball for 2 meters, that is unforgivable. But let’s face it, you don’t pick Jason Clark on his barnstorming attacking prowess. You pick him to chase kicks, make tackles and lead in the middle with an experienced voice. Either start him, or bring him on in the fatigue zones (25 - 40 mins and 60 - 80 mins) where a calm voice might just keep your line from being breached.

This 100%. One of the MANY reasons why the price “era” frustrated the bejesus out of me, he always used him as a kind of impact sub. Total madness and a waste of time for him and us for 3 bloomin years!

Re: Powell OUT : Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:43 am
I've had enough of these fans comments now. The fans always get behind the team at the start of every game. The fans have paid hundreds of pounds for season tickets and merchandise and have been sorely let down. Fans got behind the team at Wigan and we got the biggest defeat of the round. Look after what's on the pitch and the fans will look after themselves. The fans are not the reason we are losing 70% of our games.

"We absolutely need the fans 100 per cent through this game," he said. "We need to make this stadium feel like it's buzzing. It's absolutely pivotal to what we want to do for the remainder of the season. I'd urge fans to be behind the players.

"I have a lot of people talk to me on a regular basis about understanding where we're at, and I know not everyone sees that, but whether you se it or not, this right here, right now is a pivotal game for us. Fans always play a part in the vibe on the field and they can 100 per cent do that here by being behind the players. They can make a difference."

" what we want to do for the remainder of the season" - what's that? scrape a win against Toulouse and lose the remaining games once the pressure is off?

It’s textbook gaslighting really. Basically asking people not to voice their opinion unless it’s a positive one.

I was at Wigan, and have been to most games, and the atmosphere is generally quite positive at the start of the game, good effort gets rewarded with a clap and a song. But people object to conceding 30 points points without response. The fans were that far behind the club, a significant number boo’d a player who had given 10 years service on the notion that he makes T-shirts on club time, and for that reason he needed to be booted out of the club.

The critics, those fee paying fans, are the barometer of acceptances. If they start going against you, you’re on the way out. Unless, you can manipulate them into not voicing their opinion. Limit the vocal critics, limit the criticism.

Prior to the match tomorrow the fans will be right behind the team they as the game kicks off, if it starts going pear shaped then there will be many more critics than the club expect. We have paid our money and we will react to what we see, fingers crossed its positive.

Because it's such a crucial game, people are being asked to just postpone their gripes, for one match, to help the club avoid relagation.

I know it'll be hard for some to stop moaning for 80 minutes, but fear not, the rest of the week allows around 10000 minutes worth of time to complain (10080 minutes in a week).
