He’s a rocks and diamonds player. Not because he’s got a bad attitude but because he has some great positives and terrible negatives. He also suffers when the confidence of the team drops. Some players do. That’s jus the way it is, though, and we signed him knowing this. Not his fault we aren’t good enough to hide his frailties.

I don’t see any bad stink of an attitude in there at all, unless you rely on Phil Clarke for all your rumours.

So after all the dust settles from the rumours there is no clear out to change the culture.

No brains trust of long and Co joining to add some flair.

Instead it's literally a hail Mary gamble on Burgess.

I can't believe Warrington have said what have we got to lose, that's hardly a vote of confidence in the guy they have just appointed.

I think there are attitudes I would have had a go at before Dufty. For me he is a streaky player - when his confidence is up there is no stopping him. Trouble is of late his confidence has been taking a hit early in matches and his head goes down. I think he wants to do well, he just needs to put any errors he does commit out of his mind. Some will say that's attitude, but for me - just confidence.

As for the Charnley/Maguire thing - is that still there? Was it ever? I hope not.

Who's said this? If Long has left Featherstone then maybe it still just hasn't been announced?

That's the nature of rumours - different 'facts' were conflated. Sam will no doubt have his own ideas for his assistant(s).
