i wouldn't believe this, its taking out one of our main strike weapons, i think it weakens us slightly more than it strengthens it.
I think it weakens us significantly if Monaghan isn't playing at hooker, he is one of (if not the most) destructive hooker in SL around the ruck. I appreciate what Clarke brings to the table but speed wise our game will slow down with him at 9, he's ok at basic distribution either to the left or the right but he's no Monaghan and he won't look to take on the line in the same way that Monaghan does.
Were one of the quickest teams in the league at moving the ball across the line and Monaghan plays a significant part in that, i'd play Myler for his support play and cover tackling and go with Clarke and Higham on the bench as Clarke can play a number of positions from the bench which is useful to have.
My bench would be Higham, Clarke, Wood and Solomona which is a strong bench with plenty of options. I don't think we need 2 props as Harrison can move up to prop during the game if need be with Clarke coming on at 13.
Personally i think Smith will start with Clarke at 9 and Monaghan at 7 with them moving around during the game, its just i think he will go with experience and a bit of steel ahead of Myler.
They have a lot of pace in the middle with McGuire and Burrow, we'll need similar pace at spells during the game if the forwards make a break as Myler is our equiveleant of the early version of Danny McGuire at finishing off tries in a support role. McGuire has really developed his game of late to a lot more than just a support runner.
