With a second look at it I think Yed would be sorry for his joke. I can see by using Superman the character it doesn't specifically name Reeve so it wasn't a direct swipe at his disability. Just poor taste.

I think it was wrong but I don't think he meant to offend someone with a disability by use of a character. Yed's joke was of bad taste but he meant no malice, I can see that.

All these '1st world problems' everyone always offended.
Just by waking up i offend people and in January i had an epiphany, now as long as dont commit a crime, i say what i like.

I dont know 98% of the people on this forum, do you honestly think I'm sat at home worried about what 'spegs' thinks of me?

Be offended at poverty or war, Syria and the migration crisis, be offended at corporate greed, be offended about something that mattters, engage with the real world and I'll take you seriously

It didn't offend me. Far from it. It was just unnecessary and is indicative of a complete lack of wit / intelligence . If you need some tips regarding amusing metaphors, you may want to invest in the Blackadder box set.
You could have used....
