The reason people have a go at briers is that the team simply rely on him too much. If he plays badly (which he has been doing recently) the rest of them look completely clueless. He has carried us around the field for years and although his off field lifestyle is pretty much a disgrace for a professional sportsman he has still been our best player for the past several years. It was an extremely bad move to come to a club with weak coaches who have allowed him to get away with things off the field. If he had stayed at saints he would have had to toe the line and could possibly have become one of the best players to grace super league. We'll never know.

We didn't rely on him so much when appo was picked number 6 in super league team of the year or when nat wood carried the team for a number of games in briers absence. it wouldn't take us too long to live and then prosper without him.
