..........fantastic effort to set up Chris Bridge's try. Just watched the Sky coverage. I would have had Bridge at fullback for this game but Riley's lightweight, swift running game was ideal for the conditions and he caught the Dragons' defence completely flat footed for this score.

Amazing break, looked like he had a good game overall too.

Maybe this'll be the catalyst for him to show Smith he does have a future with us, the fact he can cover fullback with that level of performance will help his cause no end.

I was watching the win at Wigan from last year the other day, the ball he put Westwood in for the winning try when roaming across the field reminded me of why for me he's much better than the likes of Williams.

Will folk on here ever admit that Riley is a highly competent SL player ? Every time he does something good, he gets a patronising discussion topic as if it is a massive surprise !!

Proves you need a good squad not just a good team!
Stepped up to the plate well last night did Riley,i always think other teams pick on him a little but conducted his self very well last night..

I've said the same - on another thread.

His size goes against him in this ''modern'' era - built a bit like Briers in his early days - so maybe like Hodgeson he fits well at f/b.
His defence has come on no end over the last couple of years, and his attack has never been in doubt.
The high ball to the wing tactic is not so good for him - but suits King, Joel (and Hicks!)

Only Riley released the ball something Sam would never do in a situation like that,that said i wanted Riley to back hiself last night and go round the fullback with ease but still a great passage of play all the same..

Great to see Chris playing first-team and showing what he can do. He's done more than enough over the last few years to show he should be getting regular game time and was shocked to see how he fell out of favour after a few poor games. That said, I understand there were other factors that I'm not privy to.
