More info and Warrington's views on the changes being brought in by the RFL:
Wolves_bosses_warn_of__lost_generation__of_players

Bastian__Partnership_with_Swinton_will_be_important

A huge backward step in my opinion. Appalling that clubs like Wigan and Leeds agreed to it (I understand Warrington and Saints were the only clubs to oppose it)

It doesn't. Where in my post did I say that it did? I have been told that Warrington and Saints were the only ones to oppose it and I've read the same from other sources too.

It has been widely publicised that us and Saints were the only clubs to oppose it, and the new system was effectively forced onto the Championship without any consultation.

As I said a few weeks back, terrible system.

Can you point me to one of these "widely publicised articles" (not some random internet post)?

As one who is totally against these changes, and have stated so since they were first rumoured, I would like to see those said articles.

I can't find anything official myself, I think I've only seen it on here. I did always think it was odd that at least Wigan and Leeds didn't oppose it, so it would make sense if they actually did. Warrington have been very vocal in not liking the decision - if Wigan have too that would indicate they didn't support it.

It'll be provided in the same time frame as you backing up your claim that chris bridge should've been sent off earlier this year.

Mine was a matter of opinion, this is being stated as fact.

I am sure I read that Hetherington stated that by the time a player was 19 / 20, it was already apparent whether or not he was SL material or not. I think this is the reason that the website article from Wolves talks about Tyke and Blythe as being examples of older players making the grade. So I am fairly certain that Leeds supported this move, but I don't know about Wigan. It is obvious that the lower clubs would have gone for it as they are struggling financially, you then only require one or two clubs like Leeds and the whole thing can get through a chairmans vote. Regardless, this is all water under the bridge. It was voted in and is happening, despite being roundly condemned by coaches and players alike. I can not remember seeing a single positive statement anywhere.

As you know I have been one of the most vociferous protesters over these changes. I managed to speak to IL at the clubs awards dinner a couple of weeks back and from his comments I don't believe he backed the new system. I don't believe he was happy with the existing academy system either.
