The only player currently playing RU that I would be interested in is Semi Radrada but I think the French have a bigger sombrero than we do. He was devastating at Parra and would easily be top tryscorer in SL. It would be a good experiment if a RU prop was given a trial game in RL. I wonder what the GPS read out for a RU prop is compared to their league counterparts.

I once saw a post by Ulster RU which was shared by a RU Facebook group hailing prop Rory Best. I saved the photo to my phone at the time (no idea how to upload it, never works for me) so I'll type it out:

Bit of a waste of time comparing the two games as regards props.
In Union their most important function is being able to do their job in the scrum & being able to do more is a bit of a bonus ... but they are getting better. A league prop would not not get through a single scrum in Union without injury. Different game and different animal.

8 carries in 80 minutes. Doesn't matter if the two trades are comparable of not. Praising a player for touching the ball 8 times in 80 minutes is abysmal.

The other year the Telegraph reported that an England RU player left the field a 'broken man' as he left the field on the 60th minute having completed 12 tackles. I'm aware that the two codes are vastly different, I've played both. But those stats are poor.

There was a top Union prop who signed League ... Mike Coulman Salford (he was a success). But I can't think of more. Must be a few at a lower level.

Union scrums are as big a joke as ours ,all the pushing ,shoving ,grunting & groaning then the scrum half still feeds his own forwards. Then "sir" gives a penalty because the scrum usually collapses.

Yep ... and they eat up much more time. But they are much more important in Union e.g. World Cup Final SA v Eng.

There have been many RU forwards converted to RL.
It the most successful position as I see it.

Not many props though. Back Row mostly.
