On thread, I will hold my hands up as being wrong before but I have no faith at all that Steve price is the man to turn us around. The performances over the second half of last season(barring the semi and the final) were the worst in my whole time supporting wire. Topped even the rocket Rodwell era.

No, which is why you have teams like us, Hull, Catalans winning the odd trophy, Wigan still hanging in there and Saints being clearly the best team but struggling to assert their dominance. There's a power vacuum waiting to be filled.

I bet it will be Wigan, Saints or Leeds who fill it though and not us...

There was one play in the Castleford game that highlighted to me where we are at.
Cas kicked the ball and Charnley picked it up, he was tackled 2 yards from our own try line. The next carry was going to be a tough one and Toby King was next up. He should have run straight and as hard and as fast as he could with no thought for self preservation but instead he ran across the try line trying to isolate a smaller defender and then got bundled behind his own try line for a drop out. I like Toby King (no Greg Inglis) but at Wembley he was probably in the same position on at least 2 occasions and just ran straight and hard.
So when the players want to they can do the small things that make a difference but there are a lot more times recently where they don't do those repeated efforts.

There are loads of those little examples that go unnoticed during a game where a player has to make a choice to put the effort in or not.
Kick pressure,
Chasing a kick that looks like a lost cause.
Going third into a tackle to control the attacker or just get back in the defensive line.
Running a convincing line even though you may not get the ball.
A lot of people think we have given up the charge down since Tony Smith left. I think we just don't have the effort to get to the kicker.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

I’m sure we have given up on he charge down and at the risk of sounding Folau like, praise the lord.

Sure, "one of the best squads in the league", with guys like those that you mention you have a great chance of finishing top 5 season after season.

But there is a difference between them and the Leeds players that I mentioned before, when it comes to winning Grand Finals. There are good players and there are relentless winners.

Disagree. With that squad we should at least be finishing in the top 3 and competing for both finals as an absolute minimum.

Funnily enough we saw more than one in that last game vs Castleford

I saw the Toby King thing differently, I thought he was given a right hospital pass and hung out to dry.

Cas were wound up hunting an error and flying out of the defensive line and who gets the job to make the hard yards? Akuola? Cooper? Hill? No, a centre.

I think it was Austin who was at acting half back.and if he'd dummied and gone himself there was a large gap behind the on-rushing defence, instead he did King up like a kipper.

OK for me if he is staying which I think is most likely as the club would have acted by now.

I want to see changes elsewhere with the reserve grade being proper next year we have to make the right choices.

Hendo to reserve coach. With the view to become first team coach having layed the platform for players in the reserve to come into the first team and know the style of play and set loves etc. With ideally m monaghan as assistant to price.

Ade Gardner has a lot to answer for our fitness levels this year have taken a massive dive in prices first year it seemed we could defend for days now we are not able to maintain any level of intensity for the full 80.

Lee Briers, what us his roll, you would expect more from us going forward with him in the set up but we don't seem to be clicking, and Patton has mot improved or added anything you think Briers has been involved there

Somthing that shows the club are making changes for to seek improvement for next year.

I genuinely believe the club custodians are happy with the outcome from this season.

They won't be happy when the season tickets are up for renewal. I really can't see anything but the numbers dropping. No reason for optimism, even if we sign a couple of props the poop rugby on display has really turned the fans off.

I believe a fair few season ticket renewals will be dependent on who we sign as a prop or indeed IF we sign one.

The outcome has been good. There are 2 major trophies every season and if you win one of them, it has been a good season in the context of history. For some clubs like Halifax, Sheffield Eagles, Catalans, their cup wins are iconic seasons, highlights in their history.

I guess the question that is unsettling Wire fans is, was that Cup win a nice highlight along the journey to us being the best team in SL, or was it just a brief diversion from us being in a frustrating plateau.

The analogy here is Man Utd in Ferguson's early days vs United under Van Gaal/Mourinho. In Ferguson's early days, they picked up an FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup while Fergie was slowly assembling a squad which was set to dominate. They weren't quite there in the league at the time but you could see something special was building. When they won the FA Cup under Van Gaal and Europa League under Mourinho, it was like...yes, fair enough, but are we really gaining ground on City/Chelsea? At the moment we're like a Van Gaal/Mourinho United with a trophy, rather than early Ferguson.
