He's an odious human like the majority from that capital of inbreeding.

If you have the ability...you can watch players pass you to score...this can be included in preparation.
You don't have to take an injury risk at every incident....you reassess risk on game importance and the differing strength of the opponent.
Being the biggest, fittest and holding nerve....WINS.

Wire were going to win vs Salford without getting out of 2nd gear...that's what they did. Job done with a turnstile open.

That is a display of a championship winning team....you remove those flaws and it would have been a cricket score...but did we need one?

If you're happy with players standing there and watching, that's fine. I'm not.

I agree with rubber duckie. In a pre season friendly players have to make judgements about how much they put their bodies on the line.

No doubt later in the season we will have some debate about whether it's better to 'peak at the right time' like Wigan/Leeds do, or to go all out every week to try to win the league leaders shield and risk burn out by the end.

But nobody will say "if only we'd had players putting their body on the line more in that pre season game we could have beaten Salford by a bigger margin".

However when duckie says that is a display of a championship winning team, he's getting a bit ahead of himself.

The scoreline was irrelevant, I've no problem with that. We had our strongest team on the pitch, and for me it was all about doing the basics well and getting some game time before Thursday. This wasn't an excuse for shooting out of the line, or watching an opponent run past you without making an effort to tackle them. Not the time for allowing bad habits when we've a week to the season starting.

I don't think Gelling is in the luxurious position of deciding not to tackle and give a try to the opposition. Im sure SP will have had more than a few words.
He has to earn his stripes. It's his 1st game for us for Gawd's sake.

Gelling comes with good and bad. The bad will cost us points so I think he needs to do more than decide not to tackle.

I think you're right...the choice of word "display" wasn't ideal...I ought really to have said 'foundation'.
