Giants walloped Hull. Not sure how much longer Smith keeps his job there and Batley in front against Castleford

I think Smith has lost the Hull FC dressing room. They are lucky that the IMG grades will ensure they stay in Super League. Even London seem to show more spirit this year.

No coach resigns. Mutual agreement is the term for sacked in RL.
They want their contract paid.

I don’t know the terms when Paul Cullen left the club.
But he is the only one I ever heard of someone condition free resigning.
I’m sure there must be, but it’s very rare.

I respect Paul Cullen highly.
And when Monaghan put the stinker of an interception pass out…
(Which on the afternoon and to this day believe he did on purpose), you could see the passion and pride drain from his face,
Seeing a player seemingly lose a game was the (what’s the point?) last action for Cull.

1. We were 28 : 18 up at 70 minutes. Who gave away the other tries?

2. It was an evening game, not afternoon. Mon, 26th May 2008 Kickoff: 7:30 PM.

3. That game was a long, long time coming. PC should have gone a few seasons earlier.

Warrington side
Hicks, Riley, Gleeson, King, Penny; Briers, Monaghan; Morley (C), Clarke, Rauhihi, Anderson, Westwood, Anderson. Int: Gleeson, Grix, Bracek, Harrison.

I do remember the try well. The idea that Monaghan threw out the pass on purpose is stretching it a bit far.

I'll be honest at the time I thought he'd done it on purpose too - watching that clip again I highly doubt it. Monaghan was superb - not sure he was that good though.

We were pushing to score as we were 2 points behind, 2 minutes left and likely our last attack of the game. Dorn just read the pass and intercepted.

Once he moved to hooker, he was superb.

He was only average as a scrum half, (Where Cullen signed him for and only selected him to played there).

He was playing hooker for Manly before we signed him, and Tony Smith moved him back to No.9. for Wire.

It's strange to think back that we still had worse to come after Cullen went in May 2008. In my view the turning point was March 2009 after the 8-60 hammering at the Stoop (the Matt King V's game, Smith's 2nd game). 5 months later we were lifting the Challenge Cup.
