Posted by Smiffy27 - Wire will have a real battle to get Yates. Compared to some he is very low risk for me. I cannot really see Hudds letting him escape but salary cap can make clubs do strange things & he will obviously be testing just how much he can get.

I can't use the quote button, but an accurate assessment of the situation. Huddersfield have upped there wage offer, and other clubs are involved now as well.

Yates is big mates with Fitzgibbon from days at Newcastle together I believe

I know a few were keen for us to sign McMeeken, well he as signed a 4 year deal with Wakefield

If it would have taken a four year contract to get McMeeken, I'm glad we didn't as four years for a prop at age 31 this time next year is a bit silly.

Agreed about McMeeken. His prime years have been the last 2-3 years. 4 years is a bit long. He also had a bit of a stinker against Wigan last night.

Looks like Ratchford might be getting another year deal and club are considering offering Drinkwater another year due to Hayes' injury.

Thought that we would offer Drinkwater a new contract because of the Hayes injury.

It depends if any other clubs compete for his signature, we definitely need another half to compliment Williams and Hayes but Salary Cap will be a constraint.

Rumours on social media a deal is now agreed for Yates to come here. Hopefully Abe confirms.
