Not a surprise, it was going to happen at some point and he was pretty much the captain on the field last season.

Very logical, Ratchford is a great speaker and ambassador for the club but no longer a first choice. Hope it brings the best out in George.

Yes, this makes total sense. Stef Ratchford has been a wonderful servant to the club over many years, but the truth is that he is unlikely to play much this season, so it's illogical for him to remain as club captain. Stef's main role now seems to be 'great bloke to have around the place'. And that's actually not to be under-estimated, as I'm sure he can be of great help to the young lads coming through.

Danny Walker should be the vice captain on merit.

Young player who snatched the hooker role off Daryl Clark and hopefully will be a Wire player for a long time.
