Sometimes I think news travelled quicker in the Buff, (so to speak!) the Pink, (so to speak again!) and the good old Leigh Chronicle, than it does now Jack.

Agreed but I remember being in a phone box in westleigh trying to tap the phone for a free call to Bradford Northern for the half time score (after about 10 more calls they stopped picking up)..

On the other side saw a newspaper vendor for the Buff with his paper late stuff announcing “Alex Murphy stabbed”

The purchased paper revealed he’d snicked himself on a pair of scissors.
