In tomorrow's League Express it is reported Derek has written off a loan of 1 million pounds which the Club owed him, personally I think it is a very good gesture on his part and I applaud him for this.
On another subject, on the Barrow website, Gaz Hock has entered the Boxing Ring,to fight what appears to be a local Barrow man, the match ends with Gaz injuring his shoulder,and losing the bout, not a good idea pre season.

He's wrote off a loan of £1m, owed to him by the club! So he spent a million knowing it would be owed back?

Thats a very expensive hobby.

The 2017 Sporting Club Leigh accounts have now been filed and this loan write off is included - still trying to make sense of the state of play (not an accountant btw)

Basically, Leigh RLFC owed money to dereks main company to the tune of £1.3m to which £1m was written off so that it doesn’t been repaying. Fair play to him for that and shows he has Leigh RLFC s best interests at heart

I know its early .. The bond he had to put up with the RFL to get the SC increased for Leigh.
