Not much been said about this tackle. This was far worse than young Will Dagger's last season when he got a 4 match ban. Let's see what comes of this.

Well I’m not sure a still picture tells the whole story, although it didn’t look good at the time - any ban he gets won’t affect us

It was right in front of us but I just couldn't believe what I thought I saw!

Oddly enough, it didn't look quite as bad when I viewed it again - pretty bad, but not as bad as in 'real time'!

I reckon Pownall is in line for at least a letter of caution, about his technique in trying to get up quickly to play the ball! You can bet if 'you know who' had done it, it would have been a red card, followed by 8-10 matches!

Wasn't a spear tackle, he didn't drive him into the ground head first, he dropped him onto his backside/lower back.

He took no care to put him onto the ground safely. Just held him upside down then dropped him.

The fact he landed on his back is more luck than judgement. Should've been a red.

Oh c,mon reffy, he was very lucky not to land on his head,thank god he didn't.

Will Dagger was referred to a tribunal for a dangerous throw which he pulled out of,and the player was ok.

Correct as the tackle was already complete. The problem is that it is a completely reckless and unnecessary action, after the tackle was completed. Very lucky that JP did not sustain a significant neck injury.
