Whats the big deal with not training in the stadium? Plenty teams in sport do'nt train on there actual pitch.

In our league? it must make a difference until you have played there for at least a season dont you think .

At a ground with particular characteristics with regards to the pitch (Sheffield, Fev, Batley et al) then, yes, I think it would make a difference. However, a pitch like the LSV, designed to RFL criteria and with no obvious anonomilies (sp?) probably wouldn't give us any advantage to forking out to train there.

Was chatting to Mark Aston, a while back, and he is incensed that they can't train on Don Valley, any more. (Rotherham Utd now share with them) But you are right - he recognises that Don Valley is unique, and it was a big advantage for them to become familiar with it. He was surprised that we don't train on LSV. He also said that the Eagles had adopted a bullish attitude with DV owners (Sheffield City Council) and had obtained a number of concessions from them, re the stadium (e.g. rent reduction)

However the Eagles recently announced that they were exploring ground sharing options, with Rotherham RU, at a new purpose-built stadium.
