I saw him do it, late and completely unnecessary. That's the kind version.

You know, I can barely bring myself to talk about the cretin.

What about the cretins who handed him a five year contract?

Totally agree. My comments were well documented at time.

Alan when we start recruiting for next season there will be be no players to sign, they will all have been fixed up with Clubs, are we going to rely on young Academy players to get us through the season? If so it's going to be a long hard season again, and our outlook is another season of struggle.
And who will want to come to Leigh with our track record on paying players? The Championship will be much harder next year , a bleak season awaits us.

Ian, the season Rowley built a team out of nothing, at a club that had, on the face of it, no money, and no obvious prospects, players were available - and by and large, they did well.

There will always be players who want to come - for the coach, for the training facilities, for the fantastic supporters. (look at last Sunday, for instance) Obviously they want some money too - but don't give up hope! We have to aim for Championship survival - providing we are in that league.

Oh, and incidentally, we have all been knocking Rowley - however, for me, his achievement that season, was huge. At a time when it looked like we would fold, he gathered a squad of players, and built them into a good team, when we couldn't see how they would be paid.

Players will come because of Kieron Purtill's standing in the game. He is highly thought of as both a coach and as a person.

So kierons defo staying then, hope so and I'd offer Mick a place on the coaching staff with an option to play also even if he's the strength and conditioning coach

Well Kieron is definitely speaking to players this week about 2019, so we will make of that what we will.

I would agree about young Mickey as well.

Alan, I've never knocked Paul R, I like him both as a person and a Coach, he's always been ready to chat to Fans, and has gone out of his way for me personally when asked.
As far as Acton is concerned?I've never rated him, he isn't SL standard and never will be,I'm glad to see the back of him, this season has been a shocker, my 2 stand out games personally where the Summer Bash game, and Fev away not long after, because I was with Frank and are my memories of him.

Whatever happens next season, I think we will struggle, I hope I'm wrong but enthusiasm can only takeep you so far, hopefully we can get some decent players signed, but I'm only hopeful.

Sorry Ian - I didn't mean to imply that you may have knocked Paul Rowley. Others on here have (including me) and are still doing. But, credit where it's due - that season, he did an outstanding job of recruitment and coaching, with virtually nothing to promise his squad.
