I can’t see a statement, until they both know what League they are in. September will be interesting. As for securing players. That should be left to the coach.
Atomic , the RFL had a meeting today and the SL Clubs voted to keep SL as it is for next season , meaning Leigh are certain to be relegated this season . They will however recieve a parachute payment ,though not stated how much , at least it is something , and we can now plan for life back inthe Championsship , hopefully it won’t put Derek and Marwan off .

Hopefully, Derek and Marwen have been awaiting a confirmation one way or another from the RFL/SL, but considering that Derek is a member of that elite body of men who have made the decision - for this season anyway - I would think he knew what was coming through previous meetings and discussions. Marwen has all but publicly made the announcement and stated his desire to join Leigh Centurions and Derek Beaumont, the ball is firmly in Derek's court to accept or decline the offer not only for himself and the club, but also the fans, and in most probability it will entice back those who have drifted away in recent season's. Accepting Marwen on board will make a lot of people very happy, it will not only offer the club a degree of financial stability above what Derek can offer it will also increase the spending power to levels that could possibly match or surpass most other club's in the British game. If Mr Beaumont rejects Dr. Koukash it will in my opinion not go down very well with the paying public, there may even be some backlash to it, I cannot see any other reason beyond that it would be Mr Beaumont's ego of not wanting to share his baby with anyone else, I don't know my reaction and what course if action I would take if rejected, it would take a very good explanation for me and why it would not be deemed appropriate to accept Dr Koukash to Leigh Centurions Rugby League Football Club, I will await an announcement one way or the other and decide what course of action to take. N.B. Surely some announcement must be made, it can't just be swept under the carpet as though Dr. Koukash never said anything, it is out there in the public domain.

I agree 100% Harry , I’d have thought being good friends with Marwan would have helped seal the deal , and give so many Leythers a very positive feeling .
Why are you guys so desperate to get the dr in ,he soon gets bored had no sucsess with salford what so ever and even now there counting the cost of what he left the club in.good luck to you guys if he does but hope DB is carefull

I will happily take our chances with him on board Luppy, they say quite rightly that you never miss what you have never had, but it's also true to say if you don't give it a go you will never know how it would have worked out. I have supported Leigh for well over half a century and in all that time we have been a middling team with middling finances, a partnership of Derek and Marwen would immediately move Leigh up the ladder in the finance aspect, and it will be great fun to see how high that takes us, especially if the Salary Cap is increased as a lot of people are calling for.

I thought there had already been a clearout of most of the Board ? We have had some loyal Directors but most have not really had financial clout have they, they are more sponsors or could be deemed as Dereks 'Minnions'.
If Koucash comes on board, it really needs to be just the 2 of them (and maybe a referee ! LOL), but it sounded as Koucash is willing for Derek to continue to guide the club maybe for Koucash to babysit in readiness to take over eventually ? Every Business must have an exit strategy, so why not have one with 3 or 4 years with both giving it their all financially ?
Im all for it. What the hell. It could be 1994 all over again or even the drab years prior to Millward but if they really focus on grass roots and solidify a 'decent' Leigh team with no overpaid superstars, the future could be really bright. Make the East stand a Schools stand and get it filled with local kids. Like the Academy, East, Miners, Eagles and Parkside, this should be the future of our club !!
The more I am seeing of the signings for next season, the more I believe that Mr Beaumont has already made a decision and he personally has rejected the Good Doc, I await the public announcement.
Don't be negative yet, build slowly, build with young players too. Work in progress. Get some of the ones we want from this squad and then build if we can from there. Not many options as yet. Rumours are that we will be OK with the finances next year. Keep up the good work on here and at the back of that North Stand.
