Three course meal for the gourmands this weekend. LeytherX111 seems to have misplaced his black tie and SaBadSel appears to be on hunger strike, therefore it is a table for ten and it appears to be a set menu as all posters opted for the same six winning teams. Would the chef have something up his sleeve, apart from his month old hankie, though?
As an apéritif, Friday night saw Bongser attempting to sauce (stet) the ‘Dale v Trannies score line on Auntie’s website. His laptop, playing silly beggars, was on a go slow and he could only see the very top of that particular result. It was clear that Hornets had scored 17 but it appeared that their oppos had only scored 10. Mind racing (‘Dale took the DG to make it two scores difference in the match’s death throes?), Bongser was very nearly down to his dickie for his midnight streak (more of an amble nowadays) through the six vills when his PC finally got up to speed. His “ardour”
was lessened equally as quickly as had the cold night air acted upon it. Alas, two points for all entrants on this “away banker” though no one was remotely close to the surprisingly tight margin.
On to Saturday’s délice gastronomique as we reached the hors d’oeuvre: oui, encore une fois, deux points pour tout le monde. Again no correct margins though westleighjim (after being furthest out on the first game) was closest – just one conversion away. Kheirallah should be kicking himself – though WLJ would probably rather do it for him – Kheireallah would probably miss!
Now we move on to Sunday’s main course and what a smorgasbord of points it has turned out to be. We had had only one previous Pokemon, but this week saw a clean sweep (12 + 20 points apiece). Furthermore, for the first time in The Championship for too long, there is celebratory lobby to gobble! At the Master’s end of the board sits Atomic. A bold pred of a nilling for Dewsbury came true (three halves without conceding – go Leythe) add the correct margin and, obviously, exact score and for him it will be Champers with his meal
and a WWB of a further 25 points
Vancouver also got extras for a correct margin.
High scoring round for we band of brothers and an even higher scoring round in reali9ty, higher than anybody predicted, but Cokey (who knows
) got within a dozen (five points) and The Publican and VL within two dozen (two points).
After this feast, the absentees can surely be said to have got their just desserts. Hard cheese! Crackers & nuts not to participate.
