4-6 at halftime. I see us pulling away in the second half (but have nothing but blind hope to base that on since I can’t get commentary) but it looks more like this is another case of Charlie Knows. (Which will do for me )
VL , it did seem a very close hard game before half time , did York tire or did we step up a gear ?Maybe both , a very good performance , let’s back it up against an unbeaten Widnes next Monday . I’m happy for Ben Reynolds , it sounded like he worked well with Mellor , plenty of happy Leythers tonight .

Ian, I have been one of Ben's biggest critiques. I am absolutely delighted for him today, and i hope he keeps it up. Great result today, and if we can keep away from injuries, sign more players, we will be a big force throughout the season. COYL.
After getting to finally see a game courtesy of Bradford Bulls on YouTube, I’m going for a 28-14 win for the good guys. Close in the first half but we can pull clear in the second if we play smart. We are still gelling as a team, so do the simple stuff well, complete sets and stay away from silly penalties. We should be able to wear them down. I wonder if we see Ipape play. I’m hoping he actually gets a week to settle first, but if Ben is not fit after last weeks ankle knock, we may see him. I’ll be up for 0700 Radio York commentary on my side of the pond. Safe travels to everyone going over. Up the Comics !
Bongser has recently had problems logging on when at "work". It is almost as if his employer is trying to discourage him from pursuing his interests rather than applying himself to the endeavour they prefer him to pursue. They should not open on Leigh match days. Simples. (Meerkat emoji not found).
Once logged on via "Capcha" (or whatever it's called) Bongser had a post prepped in your praise toward HT (he is a slow typist). It was 4-4 at the time and ed your "Close in the first half". Went on to say that it was to be hoped that you were right about the second forty as a Leigh win by 22 (predicted here) seemed a long way away. In actual fact it was only about 25 minutes away. But for Bongser to score well on the "Predications", alas, you were too right.

Derek , I to have been a critic of Ben , but it seems he improved vastly today which makes us all happy Leythers , never rest on yer laurels though we can improve I’m sure Lammy will agree, a couple more signings , I told yer Dan Norman was a monster , now for unbeaten Widnes at the LSV should be a cracker . I thought York would push us , I was proved wrong , we will get better as the dry pitches arrive , it seems Ipape had a good game and his ruck speed was very good , again get a couple of players back , a couple of quality signings and Fev will be looking over their shoulder .

Agreed Ian but, you couldn't predict a snow storm in the Antarctica . Remember that antagonising/provocative/childish video when Fev beat Leigh where we ended up in the dustbin? I think that just might come back to bite them at the end of the season..
Leigh by 22 Bongser.?A bit of wishful thinking.....
Correck (as Uncle Roger would say). Had Ben not missed that one conversion, it would have been York 4 - 26 Ben; Reynolds by 22!
By being conservative regarding the weather (after the mud bath/blood bath at Fev) Bongser cost himself valuable points on the Superleigh site.
Having managed to get to both the Whitehaven and Bradford games, he's liked what he's seen (tries from all positions for a start) and has faith in this team. He will posit a healthy win against the previously unbowed Chemics.

Vancouver knows.
That last lines has never been said in 57 years. In order to put things right, I’ll post a predictive score of 26-14 for the good guys in the Chemicals game. Here’s hoping I’m wrong in the right way
As for Ben, I seem to remember thinking he looked really fit and ready to rip the Championship apart pre-Covid games. He had a few very good game at that time. He has had a slow start this time but is coming off a serious injury and is still learning how to play most effectively with Mellor. He looks in great shape fitness wise again this time, and having a 6 that will throw his body on the line in tackles is a big boost in defence. Behind a strong mobile pack, off Ipape Smith and Mellor, k think we are going to see him become stronger and stronger.
Excellent turn out by the Leigh fans at York this afternoon. There seemed to be more of us in the Leigh end than there were home fans in the main stand. Difficult wet and windy conditions in the first half with defences on top. With handling difficult the option to kick three penalties from in front of the sticks made common sense. At 4-6 at half time it looked like it was going to be a close game and a bit of a nail biter. The second half was clearly a different story. The York defence presented Stone early on with a huge gap to run through for our first try and that was it, the dam broke. Our half backs were good and Mellor ran the game for the second game running. His kick throughs near the York line always seemed to find a Leigh player. Most of the tries were catch it and dot it downs. This looked like clinical coaching analysis that had spotted a defensive weakness. It certainly looked pre-planned and, if it was, it worked, again and again. The forwards were good and got on top of the York pack the longer the game went on. Once we went two scores ahead we never looked like losing. In fact we always looked like scoring once we got near the York line. Ioane had another outstanding game. Ipape came on mid way through the second half and he looks good. He is everything Lam said he would be when his signing was announced. He is physical and likes a tackle on the bigger lads. As soon as he came on he was involved in the first three tackles that followed. He is clearly fast and offers a running threat from dummy half. He looks just what we need and he should get better with each passing game and as the grounds get harder. All round it was a great second half and a great result which goes someway to banishing the nightmare that was the game at Featherstone.
