Think everyone has some good points. Don't think it was particularly a case of fatigue (the part time teams and the teams who'd been playing SL all season should have been much more fatigued than us) (until those last few games when all was lost, we looked utterly knackered then) but the injuries were a big problem & having rotated players so everyone was used to playing competitively with everyone else could have helped. Renyolds is a talented young player but not yet as good as Ryan or Riddy and Rowley's attitude has always seemed to be players earn their place in the team. Rangi should be much more able to challenge Ryan & Riddy's place in the team & will make it easier to rotate players.

As for why we've not heard anything about Rangi Derek said in his interview that we can't fit all these players in under the cap but he can manage it using loopholes but doesn't ideally want to do that. Wouldn't expect to hear anything until after the Championship meeting on 21st to discuss the Salary Cap he mentioned, then expect he'll be announced officially after that once his contract can be finalised.

At least 3 leavers have been announced already and I have to ask...which Bailey and if you say Ryan I would suggest Rowley and Beaumont require psychiatric help.

One more question, what is your other name on here ;)

Derek you have made it more than obvious you don't want Ryan Bailey, but why does the name keep appearing?Am I missing something? It seems to me only Mr Egg or whoever he is mentions the name, for me there is more chance of us signing Mcdonald Bailey.

Derek, you can cross reffy off your list of possibilities for Mr Egg's other identity. :D

Might be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 here but from things that have been said and rumours going about I would say Rangi has signed his contract but the RFL have refused to register it because it takes Leigh over the salary cap by some distance, the choices would be either break Rangi's contract which would be costly and they probably do not want to do that, release a load of players on smaller contracts which again you do need some strength in depth, or lastly release a player on a big contract which could be the reason Ridyard's name is been passed about clubs and would make the most sense as Rowley might see him as a direct swap for Rangi.

Im probably way off the mark as usual though. :D

The owner has confirmed today that we will not be running a reserve team next season (the choice was to play in a SL reserve league, or the usual 3/4 team Championship reserve league) and that Cameron Pitman, Chris Hankinson, and Jamie Tracey will all join Barrow on a season long loan deal, to get regular first team rugby. (all members of our first team squad) That should help to free up some room on the 'Cap'

I wonder how much? Leigh did have quite a big squad didnt they? I would be surprised if it frees up more than 20K though unless some of your reserves are on decent money.

The past couple of weeks, we have been trimming the squad, with Ollie Wilkes, Tommy Goulden, Martin Aspinwall, and Ben Reynolds, of the regular first team squad, having left for one reason or the other. I haven't a clue, nor is it any of my business to know, what these guys were earning, but presumably it was a decent wage, as 'full time' players. Of course, there may be others to leave yet.

Im not sure why Leeds would have agreed to loan Brierley back to you for next season if he is not going to play in his natural position. More than likely because the loan was all in place before the signings of chase etc. But that wouldn't be good prep for 2017 when he joins us.

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

I'm not sure why you think Leeds have signed Brierley to loan him anywhere.
