friday night game, marketing genius at its best, alianate the young fans, those who work late, those away fans battling the m62, those people who would prefer to stay in and watch the sky game, yes go on then friday nights it is, excuse the sarcasm.

That'll be why half the SL clubs do it then. Not content with their little cartel they also want to alienate their fans.

I agree but it’s going to be difficult to find a major sponsor and for that reason it perhaps needs considering doing it in smaller sections (100/200 seats?) perhaps each school could be given its own section and could raise the funding? I know they have their own issues, and under 11’s go free so the sponsorship may only be necessary for accompanying adults.

In bold above is something starbug is passionate about, but in these times to ask schools to pay or find fuding (whilst not a bad idea and the question could only be asked) is perhaps a step too far, maybe something the new executive we get on board could 'look at' but he/se will have a mammoth task to complete the tasks that have been outlined for the post.
Its an unfortunate fact but nmost if not all companies have cut back on their sponsorsip budgets and I would hazard a guess due to the financial year starting next month those budgets will or may be 'spent', maybe someone who deals with that side of a companies business could enlighten us on that 'score'?

At the end of the day it all boils down to cost and at this moment in time the LSV seem unbending in their views on what is a reasonable cost to open another stand.

The community department do a great job going into schools, if the club could somehow build on that, and encourage the schools to support them in return.

May be little Billy at St Joe’s his Dad owns a small company, and although he can’t throw thousands of pounds away, perhaps he would consider a couple of hundred or so, for a bit of free advertising.

Have a Centurions Community Match (Thursday night TV game)

St Joes has 100 seats
50 free kids
50 parents pay £5 - tickets sold through school.
Billy’s Dad sponsors St Joes for say £300

There’s a school competition who can screen/shout the loudest, its now the turn of St Joes sponsored by Bill’s Dad Company, he’s also listed in the programme.

I know that only works out at £11 per parent but I wouldn’t want to be in that stand with all them screening kids nor filming above them. :)

It doesn’t need to be just schools it could be organisations. Leigh East/ Miners, Apple dance centre, etc I suggested to Hannah and Ryan a Centurion Girls section we need to work with the community.

the more the merrier glow that atmosphere at the Wigan game was fantastic even up onthe gantry but since its like being on the moon.

But one thing about NRC attendances most if not all clubs figures are down in this compettion probably because its not been branded until lately as a proper competition, dont get me wrong its not perfect but when it is watch out as the SL teams will nick it

I totally agree, and although we need to target a game to get people there as Starbug said we then need to build on that so they don't just become individual offers for low interest matches.

Get them there, give them a good time and hopefully they'll want to return regularly.

Doesn't LSV have a marketing person? Be interesting to know what his/her plans are to get bums on seats, or are they only interested in selling the 3g at top rates?

I do believe they do have a marketing person but wouldn't think that would be in his/her remit to put bums on seats for Leigh Centurions, would it?

I’m not to sure but isn't it in his/her interest to help fill the place also.

Some people who attend may decide to hold a conference/function there, open a shop there if its seen as busy, who sells the pitch side/ screen adverts?

Wouldn't it put LSV in a better position with regards to selling the next round of food/drink outlets etc if the place was full?

A thriving Leigh Centurions is surely good for LSV Co.

targeting schools is essentaial but i think the priority is entising the 700 senior fans we appear to have lost in the last 4 years.

i cant produce any figures to back this up but i remember a crowd for any game which was less than 2000 was a shock a short time ago.

i was told dewsbury have sold as many season tickets as us this year due to a much reduced offer.

i still think we need to be much bolder next year we we set prices for season tickets and admission.
we need to get these lost fans back and at the same time attract new ones. i cant think of any inducement other than financial.

i have close friends who no longer go not because they have fell out with the game but they say its not worth the money.

apologises because i have banged on about this before but our crowds do concern me
