On last night’s interview on Radio Manchester Derek seemed to have recognised the furore about the team’s colours and emphasised the launch had to be rushed due to the release of fixtures next week. But he did not acknowledge the
shirt has a Jaguar on it rather than a leopard. For an example of how to market his favourite animal he should look at Villeneuve Leopards RLFC. website.

He knows exactly what’s on the shirt. It’s called marketing. He must be paying a fortune for it.

Leopards are mainly from Africa. Their bigger cousin, the Jaguar is S American and has such big fangs and powerful jaws that it can bite through carapaces - to it tortoises are crusty pies. Its spots (rosettes) are also larger.

These are all drafts of different logo variations.

I think Derek is putting them out for feedback, but he says they have decided to go with the same font for both words in a final one. These are more about colours, etc.

OK, if the font thing has been addressed then that's fine, it was beginning to irk my pedantic ways.

Now just to centre the text.

I'm must say I'm surprised Leigh Lepers hasn't taken hold as much as variations on a big cat.

Still given how people online have pivoted between epidemiology and economic expertise over the past few years, all those other fans with sage opinions about the genus Panthera.

Still, if we played winter rugby we could have gone with Snow Leopards.
