I dont reguard myself as a disgrace , i left at full time , but didnt stay to clap the team , as i felt hurt , im still hurting , it will take time to heal , but like someone else said , players come and go fans are alwaysfans .
I once told the deluded Darren Abram , in 5 years when he was forgotten , i would still be a LEIGH FAN .
Im no better fan than anyone else , but no fan is better than me either ,i do my bit raise funds for the club , go home and away , and speak my mind whether im right or wrong ,its my oppinion,im a LEYTHER through and through , will be back next season , but i wont be preached to by anyone ,if i buy a season ticket and another fan doesnt ,im no better than him .
We have many wise philosophers , Socrates ,Plato , Andy Burnham , even the late Bernard Manning , who once said , a clever man is a man who wanders alone yet is never lonely as he keeps his own company , i apply this advice to life and feel it keeps me in good stead for what needs to be adrressed in life , so Cmon Leythers try to keep together , see you all next season , Charlie.

Just as we were forgetting him, 5/6 years on, you've gone and resurrected him!
Having made a 160 mile round trip last night I for one wanted to shake hands and thank these lads for a tremendous season regardless of last night's performance. So diappointing to see the emptying terrace with 5 minutes to go and just a handful left at the end to show their appreciation. All those players sadly leaving/retiring deserved better imo.
Well I was so gutted I wanted to leave but decided I had to clap the lads off for a great season so I did.

like frank, like all leythers was gutted, but i could not just turn my back and walk out of the lsv without showing my thanks to a great bunch of players, for what has been a great season. Yes all gutted at the performance, none morethan the players, best summed up by mick nanyn when i shook his hand, and i quote "that was poop" well yes it was, but also jamie ellis on his way off apologised, so i think i did the right thing and clapped them off, but if other people did not want to, then that is up to them akine.
To be honest does anyone care who left were and when?
The players and coach who are leaving don't care do they?
When will the penny drop with the likes of starbug,we play in a league that no one cares about, the media the public of leigh, the rfl, thats why 1800 people bothered to turn up.
It is the pointless league
Next year if we get a bad start the 2200 crowds we pulled would be a distance memory.
Fine people say you are either a supporter or not but still at the end of the day there as to be a reason to watch and not having a clear gateway to the highest competition you can play in is killing our game.
What have we got another 3 years twiddling thumbs in this level? Watching players who show any ability get whisked away or worse still watching a team full of loan players from super league and paying top dollar to watch reserves???
Two years time we will be pulling in 800-900 crowds as people will not pay the price we need to survive when the same costs or even cheaper in some super league clubs[because they can afford to reduce prices with tv money] to watch them during a season.
For every fan we lose its harder to replace with a brand new one as the super league exposure ensures the new fan heads to either wigan, saints or warrington as all are within a 15 min drive.
How do we address this? we can't afford to slash prices even more as we only have a pittyful amount of home games.
Imagine turning around to man utd and saying you only have 11 homes a season and you have to make it pay? Impossible isn't it.
The rugby union world cup is on now as I type this and its on a par with the football world cup now as a sporting event, were are we at international level? playing a game at leigh v wales, now years ago when super league was invented if someone had said this is were our game would be now seeing as we were filling old traffold and wembley at international level they would have phoned for the white van to cart you off.And that sadly is the damage the rulers of our sport have done to the game were people couldn't be bothered to watch england v wales at leigh and that includes me.
It just does not feel like the sport I fell in love with 40 years ago

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....

Difficult to ignore the fact Alan.......to date, he remains the only Leigh coach to have won 3 trophies in one season!!
Methinks it might be a few years yet before someone comes along to put that particular 'stat' to bed!!
He still leaves me cold i wouldnt give the guy any praise , , i dont like him personally , he has nothing tooffer our great game , as for the stats , i dont care .
He still leaves me cold  i wouldnt give the guy any praise , , i dont like him personally , he has nothing tooffer our great game , as for the stats , i dont care .
Why for attempting to break the Leigh mould and acctually achieving more than everyone whos ever coached here bar AJM OBE?????
Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
