Who on earth is in charge of player recruitment at the Centurions
over the past couple of years we seem to be lagging way behind other teams in this dept it seems good players become available but Leigh seem to know nothing about whoevers in charge is in my opinion not doing a really good job..in fact its way below the standard expected of a club who
aspire to move onto the next level SL ............
PLEASE DONT GIVE ME WE HAVE NO MONEY ANSWER........

When teams like Sheffield, Gateshead, Barrow , Halifax ect ect ect ect
find decent quality players and we here at Leigh struggle to find half decent players it must be something to do with PLAYER RECRUITMENT
seems in my opinion we have to recruit a well respected person to take on this important role someone with all the right contacts in World RL

Maybe it has something to do with Rowley as has been mentioned on another thread today he is not liked in RL so may go a long way towards it, i'm sure a lot of players in aus will ask people they know playing over here what do you think of such and such a club and the word will soon spread like with Wire they all ask Andrew Johns and he praisses them so they join obviously not aware of the performances

I think what Detroit is getting at is the fact we never seem to be in the running to sign any of the quality players when they become available. While our rivals are strengthening we only seem to sign young kids who many of are untried at this level. We seem to be forgetting that we can't even apply for SL unless we win the NR Cup or get to the GF either this year or next and with the team we have at present I think we can forget this year.

This is so true and the reality is looking grim at the moment.You cant blame the rest of the Championship clubs for building a stronger team albeit full of aussies.

We need to wake up and look around at what is happening with the other clubs.It is ok to build from a young side but for which franchise year.

Short memories me thinks. Last year we signed Moran, Toa Balboa and others and didnt really get us anywhere, i am willing to be patient and get behind these young uns and then hopefully keep the best of the bunch and add some quality during pre season.

thats the problem though! we dont have the professionalism or the reputation to add quality signings. We MUST have the one of the lowest wage bills in our league and probably the league below!

The clubs infrastructure is rotting inside out, we as fans just dont see it, we just know about it through third party info all the time.

Clearly leigh is not very high on the list of clubs people want to go to, i know for a fact that Paul Prescott and Bryn Hargreaves couldn't wait to get away!

Face it we are a laughing stock.

What do you think is our playing budget, how do you think it compares to last years and what should we be doing to generate income in order to be part of the ambitious club?
