Having just watched the match at Bradford on Sunday once again our outside backs have been abysmal! The amount of possession they squander is unreal, there doesn't appear to be any one of them capable of finishing or creating trys Cant remember when we last had 'backs' as inept as these? Week after week they are turning over cheap possesion and, whilst we scored over point 40 points against Rochdale it should may more! John Duffy needs to address their shortcomings because we are loosing to teams who are very ordinary.

Kirky, I have to agree, I’ve said from the start look at 2,3,4,and 5 , which one of these is capable of scoring 15 tries this season? I do think it’s a bit to soon to judge Higginson though.Pownall would cause an argument in a room on his own, Thorniley has been very quiet up to now , and Marsh is bulky but not much else. We have beaten the 2 weakest teams in the Comp recently, but where are we going to get other players from.?Duffy is a good Coach, even he apologised to the fans after Sunday’s game.
Thornley put down three excellent chances at York when just one of them would have brought victory! He also lost possession which led to Rhys Evans picking up the Ball and running away to make the decisive score! at Bradford ! The problem is, its not just him in our backs I'm only pointing out where we are consistently failing, i'm not suggesting we replace them because, I would not spend another penny on players this season its futile with Toronto able to out spend anyone
Well there’s some right negative nellies on here, for me:
Thornley looks very good at this level, seems very strong in defence and makes good yards
Higginson needs game time to see if he is up to it - comes with very good raps
Marsh disappoints me, but when he signed I expected him to play Centre where I think he would be stronger. On the plus side he puts plenty of effort in and helps the forwards out from dummy half an aweful lot
Pownall strikes me as a very average winger to be fair - but he’s prepared to put the shirt on and give his all and that’s good enough for me
Not really too sure what our expectations were but I for one ar3 more than happy with where we are at - and still wouldn’t write us off 3rd 4th or 5th

Agreed in total.
We seem quick to forget where we were, just a few short weeks ago - when, if anyone had suggested we were going to sign any of the above threequarters, they would have been accused of being delusional!
For what it's worth, I don't believe Thornley did drop that pass, leading to Evans' try. The ball arrived between him and the Bradford player - a poor pass at the best of times - and arguably hit the Bradford player first

And for those saying Marsh was slow, Evans is no slouch as we know and Marsh had to turn and chase him, and did not exactly lose any ground on him

Always has that slight hesitation after receiving the ball, which often costs him the line. Hopefully Duffs can coach that out of him.
