Yes, but there is still a couple of months to go. The Manly game could act as the engine that could 'pull' the profile up. I really hope they (we) can get some decent marketing for this. It is another golden opportunity.

On this subject of marketing, i see our brothers over on the Union side have not been at it again and have produced a shirt for their big game over the road at twickenham and linked up with a cancer charity. It still makes me wonder why we looking for a marketing manger when the money could be spend by linking up with the same company (EXP Sports) that QuinsRU use, they seem to do a great job for them.

On the Charity angle that was mentioned before in another thread, why dont QuinsRL try and link up with Help the Heroes for our game against Manly,as its a cause close to Sun's heart there could be a chance of good Sponsorship there, plus they would do a lot of promting for it in their newspaper.

And before anyone has a go at me for saying we shouldnt use charity to push our crowds up, im an ex seviceman who love to see QuinsRL do something like this for that cause, just like Union did.

My question is young faces at the stoop, how we get them keep them and get their friends to come. Have an idea would like to know if the club is willing to take the chance.

How young are we talking here? I'm 19, and have managed to convert a few of my friends to RL, because they love the matchday experience.

Targetting a few games per season with special offers perhaps at Universities would be beneficial to the club if done correctly. Cheap ticket prices, and most importantly (for students) very cheap drinks in the bar, as bait, then once they are in the game can sell itself to them.

Fair enough, maybe cheap drinks isn't a good idea for that demograph!

But to encourage people of that age to come back with their friends it will have to be very cheap, like kids for a quid or something as at that age I rememebr having hardly any money at all to spend, the only live sport I would go to with friends was Spurs in the league cup at £5 a ticket or West Ham at their kids for a quid matches, this was all we could afford on paper rounds or cornershop work, but it was great when we did actually go, a group of us would have a great time, and now these people the are much more likely to go to live sport than people who never did.

Hook them in at 13-17 with kids for a quid,
Offer drink discounts with NUS student cards for when they are 18-21,
then after 21 they will hopefully become season ticket holders in full price seats paying full price drinks like the rest of us.

Im won't pretend to know a thing about marketing. But i have said before i just don't understand why Quins rugby league who share or in the next office to Quins RU dont just ask about this comapny EXP Sports Ltd and what the cost will be to have them run some thing for us, surely they can work out some sort of deal to have them represent both sides of the Club. They must have some companies on their books who would fancy useing a Box in the summer so can stand outside and watch some great rugby and drink beer(wine for the ladies),then inside at as too cold to go out and watch.

they could appoach this walkabout pub chain if they like a box for the Manly game, offer it at reduced rates for free advvertisement in thier pubs.

I would say at the moment anything is better then nothing and they do seem to delivered for our brothers on the other side of the fence. You only have to look at the Union side of web page at their sponsorship page and see what they do for them.

This is only my opinoin and like i said i dont know anything about the marketing game unlike a few here

Whilst I agree we need to promote the Manly game and the coming season I feel it is too early for flyers. They cost a lot of money to prepare and print and with events so far ahead unless households are really interested they will probably end up on the bin and then forgotten. Run an ad in the local papers - three weeks out, two weeks out and a week out to remind everyone we are here and get in their faces. In Mid Jan start of hand out flyers for the games there should be more chance of the money spent reaping rewards.
