I think IMG wil want a London based club in the new structure
Whether that club is the Broncos, Skolars or something completely new is up for debate
1. Something new? What would be the point? Given a "leg up" at the start of this modern era, London failed to attract fans or "independent" sponsors in sufficient numbers to be self sustainable. Successive owners have walked away in defeat, including Branson who could afford to bankroll us with ease but saw the futility. What assurances could a new entity and their financers be given about survival? Would the side be permitted to be filled with ANZACS? Where would they rent? How much central assistance would they get with Marketing?
2. The Skolars? A lot would depend on if they remain where they are and the ground is developed. Personally, the level of investment needed in London RL has to include a stadium that the capital can call their own and Skolars ground has the potential. Skolars are a decent brand and have made a decent fist of it so far, doing it the hard way. It can be argued that they'd be stronger this year if we hadn't butchered them, and if the ground can be developed, they'd be a viable option if there was again long term assurances given to those bankrolling the club.
3. London Broncos? Where to start? Without Hughes.....nothing else will happen whilst he still has any control over the club. Even then, he has done so much damage already, is there anything left to salvage?
Skolars might be the better option.......but of all three, financial support with good management decisions before they even get a look in.....IMG are tasked with making money....London RL outside of the odd event, has never delivered before ......
